Athens, Greece

Athens
Greece

I've been to Athens (and its port city of Pireaus) on multiple occasions, most frequently while serving in the U.S. Navy.  On one particular trip I avoided the bars and pubs as I was with my wife and spent a full day there prior to boarding a ship for a cruise of the Greek and Turkish Isles.  Consequently the images below depict some of the sights we visited until it was time to board the cruise ship Marco Polo - which by the way no longer exists. (I head the ship went to South America and its metal was turned into razor blades).

Among the highlights of the day was visiting the Olympic Stadium, the Ancient Aquaduct, the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the Temple of Posieden and the Changing of the Palace Guard.
