Cedar Hill Cemetery

Cedar Hill Cemetery
Hartford, Connecticut

One of the most unique places in Hartford is the Cedar Hill Cemetery. It was established in 1864 and is the resting place for over 32,000 deceased individuals.  Hundred sof monuments are both colossal and magnificently beautiful.  Among the more prominent people buried there are Samuel Colt, John Pierpont Morgan, Thomas Gallaudet, Gilbert Heublein Gideon Wells, and Katharine Hepburn.  Most of the photos below were taken during a winter season.  The cemetery is even more impressive in the spring, summer and fall.

Located at 453 Fairfield Avenue (almost directly across the street from Goodwin Park) is worth a visit.
