2012 Riverfront Dragon Boat Festival

The Riverfront Parks in Hartford and East Hartford are great places to spend a day and enjoy what is known as the Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival.  The park on the hartford has excellent free entertainment and all kinds of food specialties.  The East Hartford has good food and a significantly better view of the boat races for the attendees a much better.  The iomages below are from the East Hartford side.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

In October 2016 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints opened up a new temple in Farmington, Connecticut to serve the several thousand Mormons living in New England.  I have been to Utah a few times to play golf and see the sights.  One of the things I missed was visiting a Mormon Temple because if you are not of their faith you cannot see the inside of the temple.  During the month of October their newly built Connecticut temple they held an open house for the general public.  In November the temple was officially dedicated and is now open only to members of their faith.  Photography inside the temple during the tours was prohibited, hence some of the photographs below are from public sources.
