I have had the pleasure of playing this course a few times, the last time being in 2008.  My memories of it were that it was deadly if you missed a fairway.  In missing a fairway your options were frequently not good.  In my case these were my choices:
a. Take an unplayable lie and appropriate penalty
b. Play the ball out sideways and backwards
c. Declare a lost ball, take the appropriate penalty and go back & reload

The back or second nine is as relentless as the first or front nine.
