Golf Scorecard Variations
If you put twenty golf scorecard collectors in a room and started a discussion as to what defines a golf scorecard variation you would likely get an astounding number different answers. I guess the truth lies in whats in the individual collectors mind. The following are various answers I've received over the years of my collecting these tiny pieces of golf memorabilia.
- The corners - round corners vs. square corners
- Difference in the copyright and/or the printers print date
- Changes in the golf associations course rating
- Changes in the golf associations slope rating
- The nines being reversed
- Changes in the font, either the size and/or the type of font
- A significant change in the shade of a color
- A change in the name of the professional and/or superintendent
- Different advertisements on the scorecard
- Changes in the picture on the front of the scorecard
- Typographical errors
- Minor changes in the name such as golf course to golf club, or golf club to golf & country club
- The size of the scorecard
- Changed in the printed telephone number including just changes to just the area code
- Changes to the verbiage of the local rules
- Paper texture, i.e.; glossy vs. flat finish
- Changes to the number of tee markers
- Changed to the names of the tee markers
- Difference in the fold sequences, i.e.: bi-fold to tri-fold or vertical vs. horizontal
- Scorecard orientation - vertical vs. horizontal
- The thickness of the card stock
- Pencil holder slot vs. no pencil holder slot
