 Golf Scorecard History, Wisconsin
Set #8
Tri - City GC to Turtleback GC

Who are the best golfers from Wisconsin?  I am picking Jerry Kelly as No. 1.
Jerry Kelly -
I picked him because because he went from being born in Wisconsin to going to the University of Hartford  in Connecticut and graduated from there but more importantly  because I also went to and graduated from the same university.  In addition he always played in the Travelers Championship (previously known at the Greater Hartford Championship).  When there he always stayed in the players locker room  to sip a drink and with us locker room attendants.  Thus I got to know him well and he easily  became our favorite player. Consequently he is the best golfer from Wisconsin.  Per playing habits fe was extremely  success full on the PGA and Championship Tours.

Andy North - He turned professional in 1972. He had a moderately successful career on the PGA Tour  made remarkable by the fact that two of his twins were  the US Open events.  He was also a member of the 1985 Ryder Cup team

Steve Stricker -  He has several victories on the PGA Tour.  His most successful season on tour came at age 42 in 2009  three victories and a runner-up finish on the money list. Also, he spent over 250 weeks in the top ten of the Official World rankings.  He alo served asthe USA Ryder Cup matches in 2021.   Stricker turned professional in 1990 and began his career on the Canadian Professional Golf Tour,[4] where he won two tournaments. He joined the PGA Tour in 1994, and his first success at the top level came in 1996 when Stricker notched two victories (Kemper Open, Motorola Western Open) and seven top-ten finishes to finish fourth on the 1996 PGA Tour money list.  Stricker lost his tour card in 2004.  At age 39 in 2006 relying on sponsor exemptions, he managed seven top-ten finishes and was voted the tour's Comeback Player of the Year.
