Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, Nashville, TN.

Cheekwood Botanical Gardens
Nashville, Tennessee

The Cheekwood Botanical Garden is a fifty-five acre botanical garden and art museum situated on the historic Cheek estate. It was originally built in the late 1920's as the home of Leslie and Mabel Cheek. I had the good fortune of visiting the grounds several years ago early in the month of March and took the images which you will see below.  The only thing that could have been better is if my wife and I could have been there a little later when more flowers would have been in bloom.

Hildene, Manchester, Vermont

Hildene
Manchester, Vermont

Robert Todd Lincoln was a son of President Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln.  He eventually became Chairman of the Board of the Pullman Company which at the turn of the century was one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world.  In the early 1900's Robert Todd Lincoln built a mansion in the very scenic village of Manchester, Vermont.  It remained the home of Lincoln descendants until the mid 1970's.

The photographs below are of the mansion, the gardens and views from the estate.  If you are ever in the area I highly recommend you spend a few hours at Hildene.
