The Netherlands is located in northwestern Europe also known as Holland. “Netherlands” means low-lying country; the name Holland (from Houtland, or “Wooded Land”) was originally given to one of the medieval cores of what later became the modern state and is still used for 2 of its 12 provinces (Noord-Holland and Zuid-Holland). A parliamentary democracy under a constitutional monarch, the kingdom includes its former colonies in the Lesser Antilles: Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, St. Eustatius, and St. Martin. The capital is Amsterdam and the seat of government The Hague.  

There are approximately 290 golf courses in The Netherlands.  Twenty-one golf scorecards from eleven of their courses are shown below.

The Grand Ole Opry, Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee

A while back on a trip through Tennessee we did a few days in Nashville to visit the sights.  On one evening we went to the Grand Ole Opry to see their live two hour radio broadcast.  Unlike most performances they encouraged patrons to take photographs. Below are just a few that I took.  Among the performers were Little Jimmy Dickens, Connie Smith, Kellie Pickler, Mark Snider & Band, Jean Shepard, John Conlee, Dierks Bently, Marty Stuart, The Virginia Boys and Vince Gill.  Even the live advertisements they did during the radio broadcast were entertaining.
