The course was founded in 1891. A year later the clubhouse was built. In those years it was just an 18 hole golf course.  Three years later in became an 18 hole facility. Over the years it has hosted the U.S. Open Championship, the U.S. Amateur Championship and the Walker Cup.  For more information check out their website at https://www.shinnecockhillsgolfclub.org
