Who were Illinois best golfers? Kind of had to say bur here are two I liked.
Jerry Barber - He was a full-time member of the PGA Tour from 1948 to 1962. He played on two Ryder Cup teams and was also the team captain in 1961. He earned a living primarily as a club professional like most of the touring pros of his generation working at the Wilshire CC in Los Angeles. He was the Player of the Year on the PGA tour in 1961 unseating Arnold Palmer for a year.
Kevin Streelman - Streelman, caddied at famed three-time U.S. Open venue the Chicago Golf Club. Streelman turned professional in 2001. In 2013March during his 153rd start on Tour, Streelman achieved his first victory at the Tampa Bay Championship He won his second in June 2014 at the Travelers Championship by one stroke Travelers Championship, one stroke ahead of two runners-up by closing out his final round with seven consecutive birdies.

Over 50 years ago I was into collecting stamps - not golf scorecards. Even though I gave that hobby up I never threw away amy of my stamp collection. Here are a few first day covers for some stamps in 1976.
