Bloomfield, Connecticut
What you'll see below are their golf courses that I've played plus a events that have been held there.
Gillette Ridge GC (a few images shown below) is a public golf course located in this town. When first built is was in great shape. Then a new management group took it over. In my opinion their only goal was to line their own pockets with money. Maintaining the course meant less money in their pockets. Fortunately that company (or individual) went belly-up. Now with new management the course is in much better shape. A couple of images of the course are shown below. To see the entire course to to my website at https://www.flickr.com/photos/rbglasson/albums/72157625292435133
Tumble Brook Country Club is an excellent 27 hole private club. I've had the good fortune of playing on a few occasions and always found it to in pristine condition and a pleasure to play. A few images are shown below. A few images are shown below. To get a much better perspective on this courses see my website at https://www.flickr.com/photos/rbglasson/albums/72157594338796038
Wintonbury Hills GC is an excellent public golf facility. It was designed by Pete Dye who waved his normal fee and if memory serves me correctly did it for just $5.00. If you're in the area I highly recommend that you make a tee time here. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Musical Concerts: Many, many years ago (the 1980's to be exact) the Cigna Insurance Company held musical concerts on their Bloomfield, Connecticut campus. Most of them were free. They were held outdoors and usually in the early evening. My wife and I attended several of them. We brought along a blanket and a couple of beach chairs. We always got there reasonably early so we could get relatively close to the stage. Among some the artists we saw were Neil Sedaka, Al Hirt, the U.S. Navy Band and Pete Fountain. The concert images below were taken with with a 35mm slide camera. The slides were re-photograpohed in the early 2,000's
