Who are the best golfers from Nevada. Here are three choices.
Robert Gamez - Gamez was born in Las Vegas. He played on the1989 Walker Cup team. He has had what can be described as a hot and cold career as a professional golfer. He started out winning two tournaments in his rookie season on the Tour, including his first event, the Northern Telecom Tucson Open
Kevin Stadler - Stadler, the son of former Masters champion was born in Reno, Nevada. In 2004 Stadler won twice on the sNationwide Tour and finished 13th on the money list to win a place on the 2005 PGA Tour. In his rookie season on the elite tour he came 168th on the money list, thus losing his playing status. Early in 2006 Stadler won the a major Australia gaining a two-year exemption on the European, Asian and Australian tours.
Scott Piercy - Born and raised in Las Vegas. He turned professional after graduation in 2001.In 2007, Piercy won the Ultimate Game at Wynn Las Vegas G&CC, earning $2 million. 2009. Piercy made an encouraging start to his PGA Tour career, recording five top-twenty finishes in his first six starts.
I have had the pleasure of laying several courses in Nevada, particularly around Las vegas and their suburbs. Unfortunately none of my rounds were played on any of the 70 courses whose scorecards are illustrated below.
